Steven Knight confirmed in January 2021 that Season 6 would be the final season of Peaky Blinders; however, it isn't the end of Thomas Shelby's journey. Initially, the series was meant to conclude with the seventh season, but the creator later decided to release a film around Peaky Blinders that would feature Thomas Shelby and Arthur Shelby. Also, as it was hinted at in the final season, the movie will be set around World War 2.

The sixth season focuses more on Thomas Shelby's personal and family struggles. It was definitely the most heartbreaking season for Tommy's fans, but the character pulled himself back up and dealt with one of his many enemies in Season 6. Nevertheless, Tommy's fight against Oswald Mosley and Jack Nelson has only started, which would be the central focus of the feature film. Apart from that, we'll learn what role the Shelby family will have to play in the second World War.
