What Is The Rust: Console Edition Server Wipe?
The Rust: Console Edition server wipe is something that takes place on the final Thursday of each month. During the wipe, every player’s progress is completely wiped and reset to default. Think of it as playing Rust for the very first time. All of your items, buildings, and any other progress will be completely reset.
Rust’s developers have also noted that this month’s wipe will be a blueprint wipe, meaning all blueprints researched during your time on the server will be completely reset too.
This may seem strange to some players, but there is a good reason for the monthly wipe. Not only does it allow new players to join servers without getting dominated by those with maxed-out gear, but it also keeps the servers fresh and healthy.
Sometimes when a server becomes extremely populated and full of buildings, it can cause lag and other stability issues. The monthly wipe prevents this from being a constant issue.

What Time Is The Next Rust Server Wipe?
The next Rust: Console Edition server wipe will take place on Thursday, August 26th at the following time:
- 11AM PT
- 2PM ET
- 7PM BST
As noted by the developers, these times are applicable regardless of server region and/or time zones.
Players may encounter server errors if they attempt to join whilst the wipe is happening. Once the servers are back online, all progress will be rest for every player. Enjoy!
