If you're one of those anal-retentive neat-freak types, you may want to hold off from clearing your completed save files for Mass Effect 3. BioWare has cryptically suggested that you hold on to them.

In an interview with GamerZines, Associate Producer Mike Gamble stated that, "It wouldn't be a bad idea [to keep your save files]. Obviously I can't say anything, but it wouldn't be a bad idea..."

Whether this means save files will affect future downloadable content or used for future Mass Effect titles is still unclear. We do know that Mass Effect 3 will be the final game for Commander Shepard, but that doesn't mean it will be the last we see of the Mass Effect universe.

On the one hand, it’s too early to say in the sense that we’ve got to finish Mass Effect 3, but it’s also more online than ever before," Gamble added. "We’ve got multiplayer stuff, we’ve got DLC, we’ve got the larger galaxy at war stuff. We’ll be supporting that. We’ve got some really awesome DLC stuff that we’re doing. Our heads are still in that space."

So what do you think -- DLC or more games?
