A brand new release date announcement for Demon Slayer season 2 was published, revealing more details on when does the anime releases - the new TV anime is adapting the Entertainment District arc, which will be a direct sequel to the Mugen Train movie currently in theaters.

When does Demon Slayer Season 2 releases?
Yahoo Japan and several Japanese outlets revealed that the second season of Demon Slayer will start airing in October 2021. In the Fall 2021 anime season. This information was not directly announced by Aniplex, meaning that it's possible the announcement was not supposed to be made public yet.
Moreover, Yahoo Japan revealed Demon Slayer season 2 will be airing on Fuji TV, on a prime time slot. As opposed to the first season, which was aired late at night on Tokyo MX. It looks like Fuji TV paid a huge amount to buy the show's broadcasting rights following the manga and anime film's tremendous success worldwide.

Where Demon Slayer season 2 will be airing in America?
Outside Japan, Aniplex of America simulcasted the first season of Demon Slayer on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu and Netflix. Demon Slayer season 2 should be broadcast on the same simulcast services.

How many episodes and seasons of the Demon Slayer anime will be released?
Right now, the first TV anime season and the Mugen Train movie together only adapted 8 volumes of the manga. While the manga ended with 23 volumes in total. The Entertainment District arc in the manga goes up to Volume 12. Meaning there will still be a long way to go till the original manga's ending even after season 2 ends.

As such, we should be getting more Demon Slayer anime seasons and possibly more movies in the future. It's very likely some sequel projects were already green-lit internally by Aniplex seeing how popular and lucrative Demon Slayer is.
The Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie is still in theaters, and the bluray and DVD disc release is coming soon in Japan, with English subtitles. Mugen Train will also be released digitally on June 22, 2021.
