When Is The Rust Wipe? (July 2021)

The next Rust: Console Edition server wipe will take place on Thursday, July 29th at 11AM PT / 2PM ET / 7PM BST.

What Is The Rust: Console Edition Server Wipe?

At the end of each month, more specifically the final Thursday of each month, the official Rust: Console Edition servers are completely wiped and reset to default. What does this mean for players? Well, you'll essentially be joining the server again for the very first time, all items, buildings and progress will be completely reset.

For those not used to the monthly wipe, this might seem strange. Why play a game for so long just for everything to be reset? Well, it's essential to help incorporate new players into the game without them being dominated by users who have been playing for months on end and have the best loot in the game.

There are other reasons for the monthly wipe too, the developers state that it is "to help with capacity will also wipe alongside the others to keep the schedule, and maintain future cadence with the rest".

The Rust: Console Edition developers have also stated that there may be a short period of server downtime when the server wipe occurs. This server downtime usually lasts for around 20 or 30 minutes.
