Splitgate has quickly become one of the most talked-about FPS titles of 2021, but its sudden growth in players is causing the servers to undergo a large number of unexpected stability issues.

The developers have been keeping fans up to date on their official social media accounts and have announced that servers will be kept offline for maintenance. Here's everything we know about the outage, including when the servers will be brought back online.

Splitgate Server Issues & Release Delay

Splitgate first went into beta back in 2019, but following the success of its open cross-play beta between PC and consoles, the FPS title has shot into the spotlight.

Unfortunately, this has had somewhat of a negative effect on the servers and even the full release date. On July 26th, the developers announced that the beta had been extended and the full release of Splitgate would be pushed back until August 2021.

The developers announced that the full release had been delayed in order to spend more time working on the server issues and increasing maximum capacity for Splitgate.

Fans were still treated to new content on July 27th though, including three new maps, a FOV slider, further customization options, and more. But, with the server issues still prominent, the developers were forced to take them offline on July 28th for maintenance.

When Will The Splitgate Servers Be Back Up?

On July 28th at approximately 1:15PM PT, the Splitgate servers were taken offline for maintenance. 1047 Games profusely apologized for the long waits, saying that they "need to get critical bug fixes in for further improved stability/capacity".

The developers then went on to announce that the Splitgate servers will stay offline until Friday, July 30th (PT). This will reportedly allow the devs to implement fixes to matchmaking and backend stability.

An exact time for the return of the Splitgate servers was not announced, we'll make sure to update this article with more details should they arise.
