It’s December 1, and nearly four months have passed since Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS and jilted fans who bought the console upon release. As compensation, Nintendo promised to make up for the lost $80 by offering this group of consumers — the Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors — twenty free downloadable games, ten for the Nintendo Entertainment System and ten for Game Boy Advance. We’ve gotten the ten NES games, but the GBA games are nowhere to be seen. We were promised we would see them before the end of the year — what gives?
A Nintendo spokesperson has told Official Nintendo Magazine that Ambassadors will be playing these games before the month is out. “The forthcoming 10 GBA Virtual Console titles available for registrants of the Nintendo 3Ds Ambassador Programme will be available before the end of December 2011,” said the spokesperson, promising further information will be coming soon.
Five of these ten games have been confirmed: Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3; Mario Kart: Super Circuit; Metroid Fusion; WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania; and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. The remaining five games have yet to be announced.
