How to Preorder the Demon Slayer Mugen Train Movie Blu-Ray or DVD?

Aniplex announced that the Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie will be launching on DVD and Blu-Ray in Japan on June 16, and will include English subtitles. Meaning it's import friendly.

The Demon Slayer Movie also has a Limited Edition, which contains:

  • A special booklet containing staff and seiyuu interviews.

The limited edition is priced at 9,900 Yen for the Blu-Ray version, and 8,800 Yen for the DVD version. Meanwhile, the normal edition is priced at 4,400 Yen for the Blu-ray version, and 3,850 Yen for the DVD. (All prices are tax included).

As it is often the case, be it with games, or DVD and Blu-ray releases of movies, several shops in Japan also include shop specific preorder bonuses with the Limited Edition of the Demon Slayer movie. If you can speak Japanese, and planning to import one of these, you can find the detailed list of goods here.

In particular, the official Ufotable Web Shop has a special edition for 12,870 Yen on Blu-Ray (11,870 Yen on DVD), which includes:

  • The Limited Edition
  • Acrylic stand of Kyojuro Rengoku
  • A set of 7 Genga illustrations of the movie
  • A set of five A6 sized illustration cards

Sample illustrations for these goods are right below. Right after the announcements, so many fans rushed to anime studio Ufotable's site to preorder this edition that the site ended up crashing for several hours:

今晩は。只今ufotableWEBSHOPが大変込み合っており、アクセスしづらい状態となっております。有り体のコメントとなり大変恐縮ですが、しばらく時間をおいてアクセスいただきますよう、何卒宜しくお願い致します。 https://t.co/cffdHX18r5

The biggest of fans, with the adequate budget, should be aiming for this special edition. Problem is, the Ufotable Web Shop does not ships internationally. Meaning you'll have to use a proxy. This can make things quite expensive, so be sure to do your homework and pick the most adequate service.

The other and easier way to get the DVD or Blu-ray for the Demon Slayer movie would be to order it on Amazon Japan. Or on online shops such as CD Japan, which ship internationally. These online shops might include stocks of the Special Edition from the Ufotable Web Shop as well. This will be your best bet, so be sure to check these shops' listings.

In related news, a Demon Slayer game on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam is also in development and planned for a 2021 release.
