Things have finally gotten more serious in the Hawkeye TV show, especially after the appearance of the "Big Guy" in Episode 5. Now, some fans want to know who exactly hired the Black Widow Assassin to go after Clint Barton. Well, here's everything you need to know about it.

As suggested by the show's title, Hawkeye puts Clint Barton in the spotlight. Two years after the events of Endgame, Clint is still drowning in the sorrow of losing Natasha.

Anyway, the most grounded Avenger finally gets to spend some time with his family. However, Clint very quickly realizes that his past as Ronin is still tied to him, and he has to deal with the Tracksuit Mafia before going back home.

Who Hired Yelena Belova To Kill Hawkeye?

"Someone has hired a Black Widow Assassin. This has gotten very real, very quickly," says Clint. Now, the question is, who exactly hired Yelena? Well, the answer to this question exists in Hawkeye Episode 5.

Interestingly, Vincent D’Onofrio's Kingpin appeared in Hawkeye's latest episode. After having a girls' night with Kate Bishop, Yelena tries to find out about the person who hired her to kill Clint Barton. And surprisingly, she finds out that Kate's mother, Eleanor Bishop is the person who hired her. Apparently, Eleanor has been working with Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, from the start. So, it's very well the Kingpin who is pulling all the strings in the show.

Is Valentina Also Working for Kingpin?

In Black Widow's bonus clip, we see Yelena visiting Natasha Romanoff's grave. There, we also see Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) standing beside Yelena. After talking about her midwest allergy, Valentina hands over Yelena her next target, Clint Barton. "Maybe you would like a shot at the man responsible for your sister's death," says Valentina while handing over a picture of Clint Barton to Yelena.

Black Widow's post-credit scene made us believe that it's Valentina who hired Yelena Belova to kill Clint. But after watching the latest episode of Hawkeye, it's safe to say that Valentina is also working with Eleanor and Kingpin. In fact, there's a theory suggesting that Eleanor and Valentina might be sisters. So, Kingpin might have asked Eleanor to hire someone to kill Clint, and Eleanor asked Valentina to hand over the assignment to Yelena.
