Meet Bridget Regan
Regan is an American actor born in Carlsbad, California, known from all corners of film and television. Landing her first substantial role in the series Legend of the Seeker, Regan went on to have regular spots in White Collar, Jane the Virgin, and Paradise Lost.
The actor’s role in Batwoman will make this her second comic book portrayal, after playing Dottie Underwood in Marvel’s Agent Carter series. Regan was also fan-cast as Wonder Woman for many years, before the role went to Gal Gadot, by receiving the most votes in many website-held polls.
The CW’s Batwoman was green-lit for a third season back in January, which is scheduled to premiere in October. Regan will undertake a recurring guest star role in the series as Poison Ivy, a.k.a Pamela Isley, alongside Javicia Leslie’s takeover of the titular character.
More Live-Action Poison Ivy On the Way?
The former botany student and scientist may have a fulfilling future ahead in the DCEU, if recent rumors are anything to go by. It came as a surprise to hear of Isley’s appearance in Batwoman after rumors alluded to the character’s involvement in The Batman sequel. Matt Reeves’ darker adaptation of the Caped Crusader with Robert Pattinson is gearing up to establish its own universe on the planet Earth-2, which was already speculated to have a sequel in the works. We already know of the Commissioner Gordon spinoff series of The Batman in development, and more whispers nodded towards Poison Ivy being a part of the film sequel.
James Gunn is also rumored to be at the helm of a new live-action adaptation of the Gotham City Sirens comic book series. Written by Paul Dini, the character roster stars Ivy, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn, which others flagged as the next Poison Ivy live-action outing. Black Widow actor Scarlett Johansson has also been attached to the role of Ivy in this speculated adaptation.
Batwoman Season 3 premieres on October 13 on The CW.
