Rickard Stark In House of the Dragon: Character Explained

Just like every character of Game of Thrones is known by multiple names, Rickard Stark has several titles as well. He is known as the Lord of Winterfell, Lord Paramount of the North, and Warden of the North. Rickard is a father to four children, Eddard Stark, Brandon, Lyanna, and Benjen Stark. After his death in 279 AC, Eddard became the successor to his thrown. Throughout Game of Thrones, Rickard is mentioned plenty of times in the series. Bran also has a vision of Rickard talking to the young Ned Stark before leaving Winterfell.

As also shown in GOT, under Rickard's rule, Winterfell served Aerys II, better known as the Mad King. Rickard made his relations with the Baratheon family after arranging his daughter's marriage with Robert Baratheon. And after his son, Brandon, got married to Catelyn, he also became a relative to the Tully House. But it seems like all these relations didn't serve him any benefit.
