Gyutaro complements Tengen for having a great personality, dashing looks, having three wives, and for being gifted. He gets so jealous of Tengen that he curses him for being talented and wishes for his quick death. Tengen replies by sharing how he failed by not being able to save so many lives and for having a dark past. That's when he reveals about his younger brother and his family.

Tengen reveals that he hails from the family of the Shinobi Clan, well-known ninja warriors. And due to the backbreaking training from a very young age, he has developed resistance to poison, that's why he doesn't get affected by Gyutaro's poison sickles. But his immense powers came with a hefty price, as the training took the lives of three of Tengen's nine brothers, who died before reaching the age of 10.

He reveals that his father was a cruel man who wanted to use his sons as a means to protect his clan. Tengen's father made his sons fight each other without them knowing by covering their faces with masks and making them fight to their death. When Tengen turned 15, only he and his second-youngest brother were left alive.

His father always believed that there was nothing wrong in sacrificing the weak for their own benefit, and he wanted to instill the same mentality in his children. Tengen never accepted his father's beliefs, but his brother walked on the same path as his father. Tengen's brother believed that women are just a means to produce offspring even if they die. He considered subordinates as his pawns and killed them for his own advantage. So, to avoid his inhuman brother, Tengen leaves the clan and village once and for all, along with his three wives. Tengen always wondered and felt tormented if his brother had wiped out the clan or not, but he couldn't get the courage to kill his own brother.
