TDK in DC Comics

A lot of people might have come across the character of The Detachable Kid (TDK) for the first time in The Suicide Squad. But those who have been following DC comics recognize him as the character from DC comics whose real name is Cory Pitzner.

TDK in DC comics is a metahuman who has the ability to detach his own arms and legs and control them telekinetically. However, once detached, his arms cannot be reattached, and instead must regrow but it does so within a few minutes. He used this power in combat and crime until he became a convicted felon.

Even though this character is known as The Detachable Kid, he had another superhero alias known as the "Arm Fall Off Boy" back when he made a rare appearance in DC Comics in the year 1989.

The Detachable Kid (TDK) Role in Suicide Squad

After being apprehended for a felony, he was sent to the prison called Belle Reve where he got recruited as a member of Task Force X — the team assigned to work on Project Starfish and defeat the villain named Starro.

The team's goal is to reach the island nation, Corto Maltese, to destroy the Nazi-era prison and laboratory known as Jotunheim, and in the process destroy the mysterious and dangerous Project Starfish.

However, after reaching the beach of Corto Maltese island, Blackguard betrays Task Force X and starts a fight. Then John Economos tells Colonel Rick Flag to deploy TDK who detaches his arms and uses them to attack the troops ineffectively.

Eventually, the fight gets worse for the members of Task Force X who die one by one by the Corto Maltesian troops. Sadly, in this battle, The Detachable Kid (TDK), dies as well by bleeding out during the fight.
