After a long wait, we finally got to see the trailer for Jared Leto's upcoming movie Morbius. The movie was supposed to come out in 2020 but it was delayed to 2022.

The movie is about Michael Morbius, a scientist who suffers from a rare blood disease. In a quest to find a cure for this condition, he starts performing bat-related experiments on himself.

He ends up injecting himself with radioactively altered vampire bat DNA which transforms him into a living vampire. While this experiment saves his life and grants him supernatural strength and abilities, he also begins to take on a more monstrous form that lusts for human blood.

The character Morbius is already known as one of the villains in Spider-Man but the question remains as to who will antagonize this antihero in the movie.

Morbius Movie Villain - Loxias Crown, Also Known As Hunger

Just like the movie Venom, the character of Morbius will most likely be portrayed as an antihero who ends up becoming a monster unintentionally. So the main villain in Morbius movie will be the character of Loxias Crown which will be played by Matt Smith.

Matt Smith as Loxias Crown aka Hunger

This mad scientist character was created by Howard Mackie and debuted in "Spider-Man" #76 in 1996.

Loxias Crown is Morbius' friend who suffers from the same rare blood disease but instead of finding a cure, he conducts experiments on the Living Vampire Morbius and ends up transforming himself into a vicious monster named Hunger with similar abilities as Morbius. He also becomes a member of the villainous organization Hydra.

In the latest Morbius trailer, we get to see a glimpse of this villain which is played by Matt Smith.

Power and abilities of Loxias Crown aka Hunger

Since Loxias Crown got his powers from Morbius the Living Vampire, he ends up becoming a pseudo-vampire. In the comics, he does not possess all the powers of a supernatural vampire, so he isn't vulnerable to all the traditional limitations and weaknesses of vampires.

He does have a variety of superhuman powers, such as superhuman strength and speed, as well as heightened senses including night vision and echolocation (bat-like radar for sensing prey).

This is all we know about the villain in Morbius, based on the character portrayed in comics. To know more about Loxias Crown, we shall have to wait for the movie which is slated for a release next year in 2022.
