When is the Festival of Lights Event?

While the headliner holiday for those in the US in November is Thanksgiving, those in India are celebrating the holiday of Diwali early this month.

That is why Pokemon GO is hosting the Festival of Lights events starting today, November 5th at 10:00 am local time to kick off the festivities.

This event itself will be running through Sunday, November 14 at 8:00 pm local time, with there being a number of bonuses you can enjoy all around the world.

For those in India specifically, there will even be an event on Sunday, November 7 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm local time. During this time, Dedenne and Blitzle will be spawning more often and there will be 2x catch Candy as well.

How To Get Fireworks in Pokemon GO

While India has the exclusive three hour event mentioned above, people around the world will get to celebrate in Pokemon GO with fireworks as part of the Festival of Lights.

Starting on November 5, take a look in the sky within the game and you should see fireworks going off in celebration of Diwali.

Even though the event itself runs through November 14, the fireworks are going to be a fairly limited time thing in Pokemon GO.

According to Niantic, it will only be lasting for the first few days of the event. Considering Diwali last for five days, it would make sense for them to last through that time, but we’ll have to see as they did not give specifics beyond “first few days.”
