Rumors Circulate Of GTA: Online Ban Wave (July 2021)

As most rumors do, the possibility of a GTA: Online ban wave for July 2021 started circulating on TikTok. The origin of the specific video that caused this mass panic is unknown, but it soon began spreading like wildfire. One of the many videos circulating on TikTok can be found here.

The video states that there will be a ban wave in GTA: Online similar to one that occurred in 2016. According to the TikTok video, anybody who used the frozen money and save wizard glitch will be banned, as well as anybody who did the recent duplication glitch for vehicles.

Fans that are at risk of being banned have gone into panic mode, and have even taken to the GTA: Online subreddit to find out if the ban is real.

Now, it's unclear how certain individuals on TikTok would know about the upcoming ban, but that's not to say it's not real. Rockstar Games have implemented bans in the past, so doing so wouldn't be unlikely.

Can You Get Banned For Duplicating Cars?

So, if you're worried about the possible ban wave in GTA: Online, here's what you need to know. According to the official Rockstar Games Support Page:

"GTA Online suspensions are triggered by a number of factors, including modding in GTA Online, exploiting or abusing game mechanics, manipulating protected game data and code, or interfering with other players’ gameplay experience."

The developers go on to state that anybody who receives a temporary suspension is at risk of a permanent ban, should they break the official policy again. All suspensions and bans in GTA: Online cannot be appealed.

As for specifically getting banned for duplicating cars, it's definitely possible as this is part of the 'exploiting or abusing game mechanics' mentioned on the support page.

Will There Be A Ban Wave In July 2021?

Rockstar Games is yet to officially comment on the possibility of a ban wave in GTA: Online for July 2021. So, we'd advise taking all of this information with a grain of salt.

Ban waves are definitely possible, but we wouldn't advise taking information from TikTok as solid. As many Reddit users pointed out, TikTokers have been known for releasing false information simply to get views.

If Rockstar announces an official ban wave, we'll make sure to update this article with all of the information.
