It seems like some players are struggling to run FIFA 22 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as the game stops at the Initializing screen before entering the main menu.

FIFA 22 is now officially available all around the world for football fans and gamers. Similar to the previous years, it's expected to face some technical issues and errors at launch.

Although FIFA 22 has been available since September 22 for a limited number of players, the game did not receive a day one patch today. However, it seems a new update might soon arrive as some PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players are facing a technical issue when running the old-gen version of the game.

Why Is FIFA 22 Stuck on Initializing on Next-Gen Consoles?

More than likely, the reason why it takes too long to get through the Initializing screen is the fact that you are running the old-gen version of the game on your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

As reported by a number of players, when they run the old-gen version of FIFA 22 on their 9th-gen console the game gets stuck on the Initializing screen and takes too long to eventually open the main menu.

Unfortunately, there is no official fix for the problem yet. Some players suggest running and then closing the game in the Initializing screen a few times may resolve your problem and get you inside the game.

So, if you are unintentionally running the old-gen version, make sure to download and run the next-gen version of the game to solve the issue. However, if you prefer the old-gen gameplay, you might need to wait for an official fix from EA Sports.

FIFA 22 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
