Apple has released iOS update 15.3.1 to fix an important security flaw, which could see many users upgrade to the new operating system.

iPhone and iPad gamers have been told to download the latest security patch today, named the 15.3.1 iOS update, following a new alert from Apple.

The new patch is available to download today and can be found on the following device:

And as you can see by the number of devices listed, this is a major iOS update that should not be ignored. Apple is always cautious when releasing security fixes and doesn't disclose security issues until an investigation has occurred.

Today's update fixes a security issue in WebKit, an integral part of the Safari Browser. And while this might not affect a ton of gamers directly, having to upgrade from iOS 14 to the latest version will. iOS 14 is no longer being updated, meaning a security flaw of this nature needs to be patched, leaving the only option of grabbing the platform's latest version.

Below you can find the description of the security concern and the impact it can have, according to Apple:

Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

Description: A use after free issue was addressed with improved memory management.

So for anyone who is still using an out of date version of IOS and holding off doing the big patch, now is the time to make it happen. The current guidance is that this new iOS update should be downloaded as soon as possible, and this can be done by selecting your setting, scrolling through general and clicking the software update option.
