Wii U Virtual Console Adds Super Mario Advance 4 and Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

The Wii U Virtual Console has been updated to add two new classic games: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3, and Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure.

Originally released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003, Super Mario Advance 4 is a remake of Super Mario Bros 3 based on the Super Mario All-Stars SNES version. It was also the last Super Mario Advance, the previous versions containing Super Mario Bros 2 (the US version), Super Mario World, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. This release also completes the series on Virtual Console. It is available for $7.99.

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure, meanwhile, is a Wii game released in late 2007 for North America. The game is a graphic adventure game with a point and click style that used the motion technology of the Wiimote to good effect. While it was something of a hit critically, commercial sales were disappointing. Capcom announced in 2008 that fans should not expect a sequel anytime soon and the potential series has been quiet ever since. It is available for $19.99.
