Earlier this week we reported that Nintendo's three-year old home console was making waves at Target, placing in the top three selling items during Black Friday. However, according to an official press release from Target, Wii U was the best-selling item at Target.com:

Gaming consoles were popular in stores and online, including Nintendo Wii U, which was the top selling item on Target.com.

Beating the Wii U, as mentioned in the previous article, was the iPad, boasting a sale every second of Black Friday (which would mean anywhere from 61,200 to 86,400 units). Additionally, while the in-store to online ratio of sales was not given, Target boasted that Black Friday 2015 was their largest online shopping day ever, with pick-up orders performing 35% over 2014's Black Friday.

The Wii U has managed to sell 550,000 total in North America since Spring 2015. Therefore, if they did manage to sell close to Target's Black Friday iPad numbers at one retailer in one day, it would be a limited success, especially considering Wii U's dwindling sales. Without a doubt, this month's NPD numbers will be an exciting one to watch.
