Today, developer Eight Points confirmed to us that its upcoming plot-driven survival game The Wild Eight is scheduled to release sometime in Q1 2017 on the PC. As for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, the developer has said it’s currently not ready to announce a release date.

Never heard of The Wild Eight? No problem — here’s everything you need to know courtesy of the game’s Steam page:

The plane crash was only the beginning. Eight survivors are stranded in the middle of an unforgiving Alaska. Don’t let it consume you. Survive and live to tell the tale of The Wild Eight.

  • EXPLORE

Uncover the mystery behind the plane crash by following the immersive quest lines and find all the anomalies that lie hidden in this snowy region. Follow the side quests to abandoned buildings, strange laboratories, facilities for mysterious purposes and something out of this world!

  • COOPERATE

Join with other players online to experience a memorable stay in Alaska by taking on the toughest of all the challenges.

  • SURVIVE

Brave new horizons and explore uncharted regions of Alaska in this beautiful, yet deadly procedurally generated low-poly world. Warm your body around the campfire at night. Take shelter from blizzards and share the food with other survivors.

  • CRAFT & IMPROVE

Gather whatever you can to create the tools that will ensure your survival – weapons, clothing and gathering tools. Upgrade survival skills in your shelter to tailor the gameplay to your needs.

  • HUNT OR BE HUNTED

Gather food for energy and flee from the ferocious beasts or turn the tables and let them taste your fear. However, there’re things lurking in the wild that are even more dangerous than wild animals and the cold.

A price point was not divulged, but when it is (along with more release date specifics) you’ll be able to read it here on DualShockers.
