Recently, Square Enix confirmed that Kayaharuka, creator of The Misfit of Demon King Academy manga, has passed away on July 6th, 2021. Sadly, the author was battling pancreatic cancer since 2019.

Last week, Square Enix announced that Kayaharuka is going under treatment for the illness. However, the author had already passed away, and his family held a funeral this week on Tuesday.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants launched in July 2018. Published by Square Enix, it is an incredible manga series with millions of readers around the world. The popularity of the manga blew up even more after the first season of the anime adaptation came out last summer.
