One of the most eagerly awaited MMORPG titles coming up, Star Trek Online, is receiving the Closed Beta Key treatment for those Star Trek fans that are going nuts for its arrival.

This means that if you have a PC, a fast internet connection, dress up to ridiculously attempt to look and act like a Star Fleet member, and work up an erection after hearing the name “Uhura”, this is definitely something you want to jump into.

Altern8, the world’s first online publication, announced that for just over two weeks beginning today, gamers will have the opportunity to win one of fifty exclusive Closed Beta Keys for Star Trek Online.

Developed by Cryptic Studios, Star Trek Online players can take the role as Captain of a Federation star ship, or join the Klingons as a Warlord, and “expand the Empire to the far reaches of the galaxy.” You’ll have the opportunity to revisit familiar worlds, as well as explore new ones to search for new life and new civilizations in a vast, expanding universe.

If you’re interested in getting hold of a Beta Key – and I’m pretty sure a lot of you are, you can just follow the link below, and register on the site. Alltern8 is also recruiting a couple of people to join their Federation fleet and kick some ass. I will include both links for you Star Trek fans.
