The game will come in 2019 to Nintendo Switch and PC.
Windjammers 2 will combine the characteristics of the classic title with hand-drawn 2D animations, and promises to be “the ultimate windjamming experience.”
You can check out the announcement trailer just below, alongside a few screenshots, and get a fill of some of that sweet 2D animation mentioned above.
We also get a few bullet points explaining the game’s main features:
- Gorgeous hand-drawn 2D animations
- Brand new characters and stages
- New power moves
- Enhanced online multiplayer gameplay modes
- Local PvP
Just recently, we learned that the original windjammers will be ported to Nintendo Switch as well, and it will come on October 23rd. Looks like Switch fans are getting a double windjamming whopper.
If you’re unfamiliar with Windjammers, it’s a 1994 Neo Geo game that managed to gain a cult following, enough to be featured at EVO 2018. The game is already available on PS4 and PS Vita.
At the moment there is no mention of any more console ports of Windjammers 2 outside of the Nintendo Switch.ù
