Windjammers 2 first open beta release date has been set for this Thursday on Sony's consoles and PC. The release date of the game is yet to be known.

Dotemu is reviving another popular classic! Windjammers 2 is the second project next to Metal Slug, and it will receive a new open beta session as soon as tomorrow.

Originally revealed during the August 2018 Nintendo Direct showcase, the game is a direct sequel to 1994's Windjammers. While Dotemu has taken the helm for the sequel, they have a member of the original game's team that leads the technical process of development.

Windjammers 2 Open Beta Release Date

Today, Dotemu revealed that an open beta will be available for Windjammers 2 from August 11 until August 22. Players can access the open beta for free on PS4, PS5, and PC. Unfortunately, it won't be available for Nintendo Switch owners.

The developer has not revealed a specific release time for the beginning of the open beta.

What Is Windjammers 2?

Windjammers 2 is a sports game similar to Disc Jam, but if you haven't play Disc Jam, then let's make it clear.

In Windjammers 2, you will play as an athlete with different attributes - based on the character you choose - against an opponent. The goal of the game is to throw the frisbee towards your opponent, and if he/she couldn't catch it, you will score a point. The winner is the one with the most points at the end of the game.

As said earlier, Windjammers 2 will feature different playable characters will have different attributes. While one can move faster, another character will have better control over the frisbee. The video above will help you understand the game's rules.
