Windows Phone 7 Series Puts Xbox Live in Your Pocket
Always wanted to take your Xbox Live experience with you no matter where you go? Well now you can. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer released the Windows Phone 7 Series at the Mobile World Congress 2010, and with it brought gamers the ability to be connected to their Xbox Community no matter where they are. Games, community contacts, messaging, and more. Everything you need to stay up to date with your friends is right at you fingertips. Windows may have hit a home run with gamers everywhere with this one.
“Windows Phone 7 Series was built from the ground up with entertainment in mind, and its unique design allowed us to bring some of the best gaming and community features of Xbox LIVE to the Windows mobile platform,” said Ron Pessner, general manager of Xbox LIVE Mobile. “It has always been our vision to expand the Xbox LIVE service to connect people to their games, entertainment and friends wherever they go, and the launch of Windows Phone 7 Series is an important step toward that goal.”
With the Windows 7 Series you will have some of the same features found on the Xbox 360. Here is a list of what to expect:
· Collect Achievements and build your Gamerscore
· View Xbox LIVE leaderboards
· See your Xbox LIVE Avatar
· Access Spotlight feeds, including the latest tips and tricks, game news, updates and more
· Add Xbox LIVE friends to your friends list while out on the go
· Turn-based (asynchronous) multi-player gaming
The Windows 7 Series Phone will become available sometime around Holiday 2010 and will be carried by all major carriers. DualShockers plans on getting our hands on one of these little puppies and will throw the info out to you guys when we get it. Until then, check out the launch video below. Enjoy and happy gaming.
