Raspberry Pi Press has announced the launch date of Wireframe, a new twice-monthly physical and digital magazine that will be targeted at video game developers, complete with reviews, features, and interviews. The first copy is being offered for free providing you sign up before November 8.

Raspberry Pi Press already has magazines on the market, such as The MagPi Magazine and Hackspace, but the upcoming Wireframe is going to be the first consumer-targeted publication that focuses on game development. We've already seen the official Twitter account teasing since October 16.

In an official blog post, it reads,

in Wireframe, we’ll show you how programming, art, music, and design come together to make the video games you love to play — and how you can use these elements to create games yourself.

Wireframe will focus more on indie and left-field titles and plans to have news coverage, reviews, previews, and in-depth features going behind the scenes of various games. Also included will be a Toolbox section that will feature guides and tips to help with personal game development projects.

On the cover of the announced first edition, we can see an example of what to expect with, "How the British games industry survived its turbulent early years" and "Far Cry 4's Alex Hutchinson on his "louder, brasher" game." The cover is decorated with GRIS artwork, and Wireframe's slogan, "Lifting the lid on video games".

A limited early-access offer is currently underway allowing those who want it to sign up on the Wireframe website and receive the first edition completely free. Overseas shipping charges might apply and take a bit longer to arrive. Each of the early-access editions will include a discount offer for a subscription to the magazine.

Also from November 8 there will be digital versions available,

We want everyone to enjoy Wireframe and learn more about their favourite hobby, so you’ll be able to download a digital version of all issues of Wireframe for free. Get all the features, guides, and lively opinions of our first-ever paper-and-ink edition as a handy PDF from our website from 8 November.

We recently saw two UK magazines, GamesTM, and GamesMaster get axed so seeing a new magazine rise from that news is lovely to see.

The first Wireframe issue will be launching on November 8 and will cost £3 in the UK and be available in select UK newsagents. You'll be able to get it shipped over to you if you're outside the UK but overseas shipping charges may apply.
