The Game Awards broadcast brought a number of new trailers and looks at titles from many known franchises that gamers are familiar with, but one new title stuck out in particular during the broadcast for bringing a new vision to the stage called Witchfire.

During The Game Awards broadcast tonight, a new trailer was revealed for the title Witchfire, which is a dark fantasy first-person shooter from The Vanishing of Ethan Carter developer The Astronauts, while other members from the teams behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm are also involved with the production of the game.

While not much is known for the game as far as its release window or platforms, but there was still a ton to enjoy from the game’s reveal, particular its blending of fast-paced first-person shooting and a dark fantasy setting. Much like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, personally I’m interested to see how The Astronauts blends its shooting gameplay within a fascinating world, and it certainly looks to be a lush world full of secrets to discover and explore.

Witchfire is currently in development by The Astronauts – for a closer look at the upcoming title, you can check out the game’s reveal trailer at 4K resolution below:
