The first chapter, Deathshead's Compound, is set in the year 1946, 14 years before the rest of the main events in the game. You will start in an airplane with your commander, Fergus, as you attempt to take down Nazi fighter jets.

Help Fergus In The Plane And Cockpit

When Captain BJ Blazkowicz first wakes up, he is tasked with going to the back of the plane to clamp the fuel lines. Start by heading to the back, and go immediately to your left to grab the tools. You will need to grab the clamp and the wire in order to successfully complete this part. Then, go to the very back of the plane labeled 'Fuel Line Compartment,' and clamp the line with a blue marker over it.

When you've done this, head to the other side and through the door — go downstairs, and use your knife to cut all six straps on the cargo to let them loose. Head back upstairs and into the cockpit to assist Fergus.

Make your way into the cockpit in the middle of Fergus's seat and your own. Here, you will want to shoot the fighter jets in front of you using the cockpit gun. Just try to focus on the ones directly in front of you rather than all the ones on the side. Eventually, one of the jets will smash into the front of the cockpit, and Fergus will have to wake you up.

After a bit of dialogue, you will need to jump out of your plane and into the one next to you. Make sure you sprint before you jump in order to get far enough to reach the door. Once you are inside, head to the very front of the plane to assist Fergus and Wyatt.

Escape The Plane

After falling into the water and back into the plane, grab the yellow phone that Fergus is using to contact you. He will tell you to come over to help them out.

Start by breaking the box behind you with your knife. An enemy will attempt to attack you here, and you will just want to sprint and then slide to get underneath and escape into the water.

Jump into the water below you and swim until you find a hole on the left side of the plane. Swim out of here, and keep going forward until you see a yellow marker. Swim through the plane wreckage, and go up the ladder.

When you reach the top, jump into the cockpit and shoot the two monsters in front of you. After you take them down, jump out of the cockpit and run towards your teammates, marked by a blue diamond.

Enter The Enemy Trenches

After the cutscene, move forward into the enemy trenches and run through here. As you get inside the plane wreckage, go through the hole in the ground. Just behind, there will be a doorway you'll want to go through and head to the back of the room.

Inside there will be a turret you will want to disable. Pick up the grenades in the room, and throw one at the turret to blow it up. Fall through the wreckage created underneath the explosion, and shoot the enemy underneath the door. You will need to lean down to do this.

After you defeat this first enemy, turn left to go further into the enemy trenches. There will be a lot of enemies around here, so make sure to have enough ammo and be prepared. There are many spots for you to hide behind to prevent significant damage. Keep moving forward through here.

You'll eventually reach a spot where you can go up a flight of stairs and in through a doorway. Go through here and defeat the enemies in the room. Once you have taken them out, head outside through the doorway and squeeze through the crack in the wall on the right.

Head up the enemy trenches even further, past the fiery area on the left. Keep moving forward until you come to a dead end. Turn to the right and head through here, and then turn left to go deeper into the trenches. You will want to take out all the enemies in this area. Move forward and run through the wreckage ahead.

Head through the doorway until you come into a room with two enemies. Sneak up on the commander and take him out with your knife. You can do the same with the other enemy. Go right out of the room, and take out the enemy waiting outside by sneaking up on him as well.

Move forward through the trenches, and try to take out the commander first to prevent the alarms from going off. Then, take out the rest of the enemies in this area. Head straight through the trenches and defeat the enemies in the next location. Head into the isolated room, where you will find some explosives. Use these on the gates labeled with a blue marker. Once it blows up, head through the hole created by the explosion.

Disable The Cannons

Make your way through this area, taking out the enemy on the turret first. Head up the three flights of stairs behind the turret until you reach the very top. There will be another room of enemies that you will want to quickly take out.

When you have finished them off, head up the two flights of stairs again until you reach the top room. Turn to your left, where there will be a group of enemies with a turret. Take them out, and then disable the cannon behind them labeled by a blue marker.

Head back out of this room, and go right through the doorway. There will be two red doors in here, and you will want to go through the left one to get to the next area. Defeat the enemies in this room, and then make your way up the stairs.

Head to your right and defeat the enemies here. You'll want to hide behind the boxes in this area to avoid getting taken down by the turret. When you have finished them off, go into the room straight ahead. This is where the second cannon will be that you will want to get on and turn to the left to shoot the rubble. This will open up the path to reach the top of the building.

Once you blow this rubble up, leave the room and go through the doorway on the right. Walk through here and up the stairs. Take out the few enemies up here, and then run to the doorway at the back.

Reach The Control Room

At the beginning of this section, you will be climbing up the wall of a building. There will be enemies that will peek out of the windows to attempt to kill you. Whenever you see one, just make sure to shoot them down. You will want to watch out for falling debris as well.

Once you reach the window at the top, go through here and into the building. Head to your left and down the ladder. Down here, you will want to pull a lever, which will start moving the chains. Make your way down to the bottom floor.

Head through the room straight ahead, and take out the enemies around here. To get to the next location, go to the area on the left with a destroyed floor and boards of wood, creating a path.

Go right, and take out the enemies here. Keep going straight through the hallway, and go up the spiral staircase when you reach it. At the top, head forward while taking out the enemies in front of you. You can do this in stealth mode if you prefer. In the next room, you can go outside through the open windows.

Make your way to the other side, and go up the stairs. Go to your right, and take out the enemies here. Keep going forward until you see a turret on the right. Head inside, and use the turret to take out the enemies on the bottom and top floors in the open area. When you finish them off, head to your right and through the rubble labeled with a yellow marker.

Once you meet up with your teammates, move the beam using the pliers marked by a blue diamond. Then, jump over the gap with everyone else.

In the next room, you will need to find a key to turn off the incinerators. This will be located in the drawers on the very left. Go over to the door where all three of your teammates are standing, and unlock the door. Go back and grab your teammate who can't walk, and go through to the next room.

Take out the monster in this room by continuing to shoot at it from the front. Once you have finished it off, a cutscene will begin with Deathshead. You will then wake up with Deathshead, having you choose between saving either Wyatt or Fergus. You can do this by looking at and choosing the person you wish not to save.

When Deathshead leaves the room, work with your chosen teammate to first take down the monster in the room using pliers and then smash the pipes around the room. Finally, head to the window and use the wires to hotwire the window open. Jump out through here.
