Last year, Nicalis revealed that they were working with Lizardcube and DotEmu to release a physical edition for last year’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap on Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Q1 2018. Today, the contents of this physical version were revealed, as was its release date: February 13.

Only the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game will be receiving this definitive physical release, and they will cost $39.99, which is much higher than the game’s current price tag. That being said, the first round of physical prints will also include reversible cover art, a physical instruction manual, a CD with twelve of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap’s tracks, and a PVC Strap with Lizard-Man on it.

For those of you who don’t know, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is a remake of the 1989 Sega Master System title Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap. The game’s visuals and soundtrack have been completely remade, but either can be toggled back to the originals at the press of a button. It released on multiple platforms last April, and quickly became one of my favorites titles of the of the year, garnering a glowing review from myself and a place on my Top 10 Games of 2017 list.

You can watch the trailer that reveals the release date of the physical PS4 and Switch versions of the game below. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is currently available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
