During last week's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix revealed that several Final Fantasy titles were coming to Nintendo Switch, including an enhanced World of Final Fantasy port called World of Final Fantasy Maxima. This enhanced version of the game will also hit Xbox One, and the new improvements will come to PS4 and PC via DLC.

To give a better idea of what exactly is new in World of Final Fantasy Maxima, Square Enix has released a new gameplay trailer just before Tokyo Game Show 2018, where the game will be showcased. On a content level, new Final Fantasy characters, mirages, and dungeon challenges have been added. On the gameplay side of things, a fishing minigame with Noctis is included, as well as the new Avatar Change System.

With this new system, players can transform into several famous Final Fantasy characters during battle, opening up new moves and strategies when creating stacks. Avatars showcased in the trailer include Squall, Noctis, Yuna, Lightning, and Vivi. If you want to see how the base game is before picking up World of Final Fantasy Maxima, you can read our review.

World of Final Fantasy is currently available on PC, PS4, and PS Vita, with World of Final Fantasy Maxima hitting the aforementioned platforms as DLC as well as Nintendo Switch and Xbox One for the first time on November 6. The game can also be pre-ordered for Xbox One on Amazon.
