She-Hulk recently released the much-awaited Episode 2 on Disney Plus, which featured several exciting easter eggs. The second episode gave us the first-ever Wolverine reference in the MCU, but the most interesting easter egg for the Marvel community was definitely the 'World War Hulk.'

The second episode featured Jennifer Walters struggling as a superhero. Of course, she saved the lives of several people by transforming into She-Hulk in court, which got the entire world talking about the new green superhero. However, she also lost an important case for her firm and got fired because of that spectacle. Also, no US law firm wanted to hire a superhero, except for one. Holden Holliway from the GLK & H Law firm asks Jennifer to head their Superhuman Law Division. However, for the first case, Holliway wants Jennifer to represent Emil Blonsky - Abomination.

Reluctant at first, Jennifer decides to meet Blonsky before making a decision. Blonsky puts forward a compelling argument, and Jennifer calls Bruce to tell her that she's taking the case. Bruce, obviously, gives his blessing to Jennifer but refuses to meet her because he's heading to Sakaar in a spaceship - the same ship we saw in the first episode.

In the MCU, we always saw Hulk as a supporting character, and Mark Ruffalo's version of the character didn't get an individual movie so far. However, Marvel Studios has recently hinted toward the standalone Hulk movie, which will be based on the World War Hulk storyline. Well, Hulk leaving Earth on a Sakaar spaceship is an indication that MCU is moving forward with World War Hulk.

World War Hulk - The Darkest Chapter In Hulk's Story

What Is World War Hulk? She-Hulk Easter Egg Explained

In Marvel comic books, the World War Hulk storyline begins when the Illuminati - Doctor Strange, Tony Stark, Mr. Fantastic, and Black Bolt - ask Hulk to leave the Earth. During those events, Hulk was married to Caiera, who was pregnant at the time. Hulk decides to leave Earth with his wife, but tragedy strikes when their spaceship explodes on the way to Sakaar. Caiera dies in the explosion, and Hulk starts blaming Illuminati for the death of his wife and unborn child.

After that, Hulk spends several years at Sakaar and becomes more powerful because of the planet's radiation. Filled with rage, Hulk comes back to Earth to kill every member of the Illuminati. Interestingly, Hulk fights and defeats several characters, including Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Professor X, Black Bolt, and many more. He almost destroys the entire New York City, but in the end, Iron Man nullifies Hulk's gamma radiation with a satellite. Ultimately, we learn that Hulk's child, Skaar, survived the crash all those years back, and he's currently on the Sakaar planet.

Now, it's evident that MCU's World War Hulk story will be a lot different from what we've seen in comic books. Firstly, Iron Man is already dead in the MCU, and we still haven't seen Earth 616's Illuminati, so it's hard to say what events will trigger the Hulk's darkest phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Hulk already spent several years on Sakaar (During Thor Ragnarok's events), so there's a chance that he already has a son on the planet. If that's the case, the Sakaarian ship might have arrived on Earth to inform Hulk about his child.
