World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth’s Animated Short Shows the Rage of Sylvanas

The new animated short of World of Warcraft expansion Battle for Azeroth focuses on Sylvanas Windrunner, setting the mood for the upcoming war.

July 31, 2018

Today Blizzard Entertainment released a brand new animated short in preparation for the release of the newest World of Warcraft expansion Battle for Azeroth.

This time around the short is all about Sylvanas Windrunner, and of course, she shows the same traits that lead to the “only war” theme of the expansion. Basically, she turned into a stereotypical villainess, but hopefully, the story of the expansion itself will be deeper than that.

That being said, the video is definitely nice, but since it’s Blizzard, this should come as no surprise.

More is coming, as at least three shorts were teased. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy this one below. You can also watch the previous short featuring an equally angry Jaina Proudfoot.

Incidentally, we recently learned that the base game and previous expansions (excluding Battle for Azeroth of course) will be included on the monthly subscription for the game. You can also read our recent interview.

The expansion will launch on PC on August 14th. If you’re interested, you can pre-order it on Amazon.
