Although it lacks the huge brand recognition of series like Street Fighter and Tekken, fans and critics agree that the BlazBlue series is one of the most creative and intricate fighting series in the genre. In celebration of the series' three year anniversary, Aksys has revealed the cumulative worldwide sales total of the series so far. The combined sales total of all BlazBlue games, across all platforms and continents, is 1.7 million units.

In North America alone the series has cleared sales of 800,000 units. These sales have been accumulating since June of 2009 when the original BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger hit Japanese home consoles. Although these figures seem undoubtedly slim in comparison to the sales of some big western game releases, it's safe to assume that 1.7 million is a strong showing for a series this obscure.

Furthermore, Aksys is also celebrating by offering reduced pricing on select BlazBlue games. Reduced pricing is available in-store at GameStop retailers and online directly from the Aksys store.
