Earlier this year at PAX East, we got to check out an early alpha build of Wormhole Wars, a new multiplayer FPS that combines elements of both Halo and Portal.

Now, developer 1047 Games has announced that Wormhole Wars is no more and has been renamed Splitgate: Arena Warfare. 1047 Games released a new trailer to celebrate the renaming announcement.

The new video features about 90 seconds worth of gameplay footage that shows off how this combination of Portal and Halo works. Much like in Portal, you can create holes on certain objects in the environment to either get around the map more quickly or get the drop on enemies. You can also use terminal velocity from large drops to quickly shoot you out of other portals, as well. It's a unique style of play for a multiplayer FPS that I guarantee you haven't seen before.

You can check out the new announcement trailer for Splitgate: Arena Warfare at the bottom of the page. If you'd like to get in on the action for yourself, you can head over to the game's Discord to sign up to get into the Alpha, which is currently only available on PC.
