Retro Game Inspired Wreck-It Ralph Gets VR Attraction at Disney Parks
Disney's lovable bad guy is booked to get his own virtual reality attraction at exploring the world of online gaming titled Ralph Breaks VR.
Disney’s lovable oaf Wreck-It Ralph is ready to break out of the Rampage-inspired fictional video game Fix-It Felix that we saw in his 2012 arcade-themed motion picture and step into the world of virtual reality via a new theme park attraction.
Announced yesterday on Disney Parks’ official blog, Ralph Breaks VR will take people on a whirlwind adventure through the realm of the internet focusing on many of the aspects that we’ll see in the upcoming movie’s sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet including online gaming. Ralph himself will be there alongside his cheeky companion from Litwik’s Arcade’s fictional kart-racer Sugar Rush, Vanellope von Schweetz.
Wreck-It Ralph Breaks VR will be a multi-sensory experience in a similar vein as Disney Springs and Downtown Disney District’s Star Wars attraction Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire.
Although there is no solid release date for Ralph Breaks VR as of yet, the attraction is booked to launch sometime this Fall. In the meantime, “old ham-hands himself” will be returning to theatres on November 21 in Ralph Breaks the Internet, taking the franchise in a slightly different direction and moving on from the homage to classic gaming that we saw in the original.
