This WWE 2K20 Referee Glitch is Ridiculous and Hilarious

Have you ever wanted to watch a human slug slither across a wrestling ring in a fighting game? This WWE 2K20 referee glitch will make that wish come true.

It may come as a surprise to some of you, but video games are actually hard to make. As such, sometimes we see bugs or glitches that can ruin or enhance your experience. There are also glitches that may give you a good laugh. This WWE 2K20 referee glitch is a knee slapper.

In the video above, we begin with a perfectly normal scene from WWE 2K20‘s Showcase mode which puts Charlotte and Natalya in a match on NXT. For those who don’t know, this year’s Showcase mode lets you play out some of the most iconic Women’s matches throughout the history of the Four Horsewomen (Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley). To complete a match, you have to complete specific objectives, which are listed at the top left of the screen. Completing objectives will sometimes lead to a cutscene from specific moments from that match. For this particular match, the switch from gameplay to cutscene caused some sort of glitch, and things got a bit wild.

At the beginning of that cutscene, the referee is in the middle of the ring in between Charlotte and Natalya. At this moment, you can tell something is not right. Once it goes back into gameplay, it seems the ref’s legs become inoperable and slithers around the ring like a human slug. Honestly, it’s one of the most ridiculous glitches I have ever seen in a WWE 2K game, and it brought me a lot of joy. That may not have been the developer’s intentions, but it did put a smile on my face.

It should be noted that this gameplay was captured from the WWE 2K20 preview event from a couple of weeks ago. We were playing a preview build of the game, not the retail version. Whether this glitch is in the retail version is unknown, but let’s hope it is not.

WWE 2K20 launches on October 22 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
