After a year and a half hiatus, WWE 2K22 is set to release next March, but there are reports saying there are already issues when it comes to upcoming DLC plans and some having to be canceled.

Previous developer Visual Concepts had done a solid job improving upon the WWE series each year up through WWE 2K19.

Yukes took over entirely with WWE 2K20 and was disappointing in pretty much every way imaginable, which combined with COVID led to WWE 2K21 being skipped entirely.

WWE Roster Talent Cuts Keep Coming

This last year and a half has not been a great time to be some wrestlers, as there have been a lot of cuts from the company.

These cuts have ranged from prominent wrestlers to some on the smaller scale, making some people wonder about the future of the company and what Vince McMahon is doing.

This has included the release of wrestlers like Bray Wyatt, Rusev, the Iiconics, and many more since just around the time COVID really made an impact last year.

While some of these meant they had to be cut from WWE 2K22 of course, the sporadic nature of some has certainly had to have caused issues with the planning by the developer for future content.

WWE 2K22 DLC Cancellation Rumors

According to SGO, that is exactly the case when it comes to WWE 2K22 DLC, as multiple wrestler releases have ruined their plans for upcoming content in the game.

In this report, it was stated that former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed, along with Mercedes Martinez, Tyler Ruster, and Leon Ruff were planned to be added to the game through the first couple DLC packs after release.

However, their releases from WWE have obviously ruined that, leading to them having to scrap DLC for those wrestlers entirely.

What doe this mean for the future DLC for WWE 2K22 in the end? We really don't know. Releases have continually happened over the last year and a half, so the team could be spending plenty of time on a wrestler only to have them get released soon after.

WWE 2K22 is scheduled for release in March 2022.
