WWE 2K22 is quite disappointing when it comes to new or returning match types. It's almost the same match-type list we had in 2K20 except for a single update!

WWE 2K22 is supposed to be a huge revolution in the series. With the disastrous launch of WWE 2K20, Visual Concepts was given one extra year to work on the new entry of the franchise, and while the game has not been released yet, its list of match types doesn't seem interesting enough.

From all the match types in different categories of WWE 2K22, only one has a new game mode, and even that one is not something completely new. Also, there is no news around the return of old-school modes such as Special Guest Referee, Lumberjack Match, or Gauntlet Match.

WWE 2K22 New and Returning Match Types

Backstage Brawl will receive a new version this year in WWE 2K22, which is the only new match type in the whole game. (Thank you, TheMovement!)
