Xbox 20/20 is Microsoft’s New Ongoing Monthly Series that Will Lead Up to the Xbox Series X Launch

To build-up to the launch of the Xbox Series X, Microsoft has revealed a new monthly programming slate that it's calling Xbox 20/20.

Prior to the latest edition of Inside Xbox this Thursday which will feature a look at some of the third-party titles coming to the Xbox Series X, Microsoft has today announced additional plans that will lead up to the arrival of the next-gen platform.

In a new series that Microsoft is calling Xbox 20/20, the console manufacturer will be providing monthly updates on all things Xbox. Some of these updates will center on what’s happening with the Xbox Series X, others will focus on games, much like this week’s May 7 edition of Inside Xbox.

Here’s a description of the ongoing programming slate from the team at Microsoft:

“Starting with the May 7 episode of Inside Xbox, we will be showcasing what happens next in the world of Xbox, every month, which is why we’re calling it ‘Xbox 20/20.’ These monthly moments will take place throughout the rest of the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what’s in store for the next generation of gaming, including what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud. Every month will bring something different. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire for more details.”

While June’s planned programming hasn’t been revealed just yet, Microsoft did inform fans of what’s expected to occur in July. During this month, we’ll get a look at which games are being developed at Microsoft’s first-party teams that are part of Xbox Game Studios. All of Microsoft’s first-party developers are said to be working on next-gen products, meaning that we should finally start to get a better idea of what each team is working on for the Xbox Series X platform. July’s portion of Xbox 20/20 is said to specifically feature “first looks at new gameplay, insights from development teams being optimized for Xbox Series X, and brand-new game announcements.”

All in all, it seems like it’s going to be a very busy remainder of 2020 for the team over at Xbox for a variety of reasons. Knowing that we in the general public will be getting updates on everything related to Xbox each month is surely a positive thing though and will make the wait to the release of the Xbox Series X that much easier.

As of now, the Xbox Series X is slated to launch at an undetermined date and price this holiday season.
