Australian gamers have long lamented the greater prices they have to pay for software and games. Starting next month, that will be less of an issue for those wanting to pick up the Xbox 360.

A set of price drops will see the 250GB console's price reduced by $100. The console only bundle falls from $299 to $199, while the Kinect bundle has been reduced from $399 to $199.

The 4GB console is also getting a markdown, but with far less of a reduction. The console bundle has been reduced from $199 to $179, with the Kinect being cut down from $299 to $249.

Microsoft have also announced a new 500GB console for $279, which comes in both a blue colour and the standard black. This console also comes with both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops II, in addition to a month of Xbox Live Gold
