The upcoming edition of long-running publication Time Magazine will be showcasing its selection of this year's greatest inventions. Nestled neatly amongst such items as a gravity-defying toolbox and diamonds efficiently created through the use of plasma techniques is none other than Microsoft's Xbox One Adaptive Controller.

Originally announced back in may of this year the Xbox One Adaptive Controller is an interesting piece of peripheral aimed towards those with limited mobility. Through a number of interchangeable pieces which can be attached to the controller, it can be adjusted to suit the specific needs of the player.

The flat based controller is designed to rest on top of a surface, as opposed to being held in the player's hands. It features a D-pad on the left-hand side along with two large track-pads which makes the controller more accessible. It also comes in easy-to-open packaging to ensure that players with limited mobility do not have any issues while unboxing it.

The Xbox One Adaptive Controller is now listed as one of the best inventions of 2018. Time Magazine's list compiles the 5o most impressive creations of the year which range from the most simplistic alterations designed to better existing everyday items to completely new and wild ideas. Being added to this prestigious annual compilation is a truly amazing feat. To make this an even more momentous occasion, the Xbox One Adaptive Controller is also featured on the monthly magazine's cover.

The Xbox One Adaptive Controller is available now. It is, of course, exclusive to the Xbox One.
