Microsoft has announced the reintroduction of Xbox All Access with an option to upgrade to the next console "Project Scarlett" when it goes on sale in 2020. Xbox All Access will be available for those in the US, UK, and Australia and will allow the customer to make monthly payments for different variations of consoles.

Those who join Xbox All Access will be able to grab an Xbox One X, Xbox One S, or the more recent Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. These will come with one Xbox wireless controller and a 24-month membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. On top of this, US and UK customers will also have the option to upgrade to Project Scarlett once it's available, so long as they purchase a console through December 31.

Customers will be able to jump onto a participating retailer website and choose the console they want with no upfront cost. One retailer for the US is Amazon, while those in the UK can go through GAME. Then customers will need to qualify with the financing partner for credit checks. For US folks, this will be Citizens Bank, Klarna for those in the UK, and Telstra for Australian customers.

The monthly cost varies depending on which console bundle you go for:

  • Xbox One S All-Digital Edition: USD $19.99/GBP £17.99 a month for 24 months.
  • Xbox One S: USD $22,99/GBP £19.99 a month for 24 months.
  • Xbox One X: USD $30.99/GBP £24.99 a month for 24 months.

For UK and US customers who purchase a console through the Xbox All Access program, they will be eligible to upgrade to Project Scarlett providing they've also made 18 payments.

"This is why as a limited time offer this holiday season, players in the U.S. and U.K. who purchase an Xbox One X with Xbox All Access through December 31, 2019, have the option to upgrade to the next Xbox console in as few as 12 months and once Project Scarlett has officially launched."

For those upgrading to the Project Scarlett in Holiday 2020, US and UK customers will need to be in good standing with the financing partners, purchase the Project Scarlett with a new Xbox All Access order from the same retailer, and then trade-in the console originally ordered with the first Xbox All Access purchase. Customers will also get an upgrade fee if they're upgrading to the Scarlett from the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition.

Xbox All Access will become available on October 29 in Australia, November 5 in the UK, and November 18 in the US. Xbox Scarlett is to be launching Holiday 2020 with Halo: Infinite at its side.
