Xbox Live Gold Members Will Be Able to Request a Refund for Remaining Days After June Updates

By Megan Smith

May 14, 2014

After the June updates for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to request a pro-rata refund for any unused days between the date of cancellation and the date their Gold membership ends according the customer support FAQ page.

Cancellation and pro-rata refund requests must be made by August 31, 2014 and require six to eight weeks for processing. Free or trial Gold memberships are not eligible for a refund. To request your pro-rata refund, please click after the system updates become available in June.

After the update, Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming apps will be free to use on the consoles, stopping players from having to pay for both a Gold membership and the subscription fees for the apps themselves.
