Another day, another new set of additions to Xbox One's massively popular Backward Compatibility list. This week, we are seeing some late bloomers in the console's life; namely Saints Row: The ThirdSlender: The Arrival, and Super Contra.

These latest additions arrived yesterday, along with an accompanying update to Major Nelson's running blog of Backward Compatibility titles.

Developer Volition and Publisher THQ released Saints Row: The Third nearly six years ago on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game, which solidified the series as a (somehow) more absurd take on the Grand Theft Auto formula, performed well with both critics and sales -- easily reaching 5.5 million units sold by the end of 2012. DualShockers reviewed the game, awarding it a 9.5 out of 10 at the time noting "In a world of hype and broken promises, Saints Row: The Third is a game that delivers."

While the other games on the list are less star-studded, they are absolutely worth your time. The new games include the following:

  • Monopoly Deal
  • Saints Row: The Third
  • Slender: The Arrival
  • Super Cntra
  • Undertow
  • Virtual On (Japan Only)

The last round of Backward Compatibility additions welcomed The Walking Dead: Season OneThe Walking Dead: Season Two, and The Walking Dead: Michonne to their list of Xbox 360 games. As always, to access these games all you need is the disc or to have purchased these games digitally in the past.
