Xbox One Exclusive Ryse by Crytek Opens Teaser Website, Counting Down to E3

Remember Crytek’s Codename Kingdoms that was shown at E3 2011 and that was supposed to be a Xbox 360 exclusive? Yesterday it was confirmed to have made the jump as a Xbox One exclusive, and earlier today Crytek opened a teaser website counting down to Microsoft’s E3 press conference. The new title is Ryse.

The site doesn’t show much, besides the fact that it will be set in the times of Ancient Rome and that the player will have the chance to “fight as a soldier, lead as a general, rise as a hero” through “controller-based gameplay enhanced by Kinect”. We sure have to hope that Kinect won’t “enhance” it like it did with the latest Steel Battalion, or unsheathing that gladius might end up proving quite tricky…

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
