Xbox One Friend List and Social Features Down Again for Many Users (UPDATED)

on October 17, 2014 4:21 PM

Looks like friend lists can’t catch a break lately, and the Xbox One friend list and social features (like messages and parties) are down again for many users around the world.

The Xbox Support Twitter account is getting flooded with requests for help, and reports are popping up on Reddit and other social environments. I verified myself, and the result is what you can see in the picture below. The official status page still didn’t acknowledge the problem, but it’s definitely happening again.

It begun with Xbox One earlier this week, then followed suit by the PSN yesterday, and looks like it’s the Xbox One’s turn again now. Hopefully a fix won’t require 24 hours like last time.

Of course we’ll keep you updated about the status of the service as soon as things change.

Update 1: Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on the Xbox Live status page.

Update 2: the problem seems to have been solved. Luckily this time it didn’t take 24 hours.
