Xbox One Friend List and Social Services Go Down Again as Xbox Live Stutters (UPDATED)

Things have been slightly bumpy for Xbox Live users, as the friend list and social services on Xbox One and Xbox 360 have dropped once more, after repeated issues in the past couple of weeks.

Reports are piling in over social media, with users mentioning friend lists stuck with all friends offline, friend activity and leaderbords down, and problems with the party chat.

The official status page is currently inaccessible returning a runtime error, alongside other areas of the Xbox website. below you can see the DownDetector status showing the spike in reports, localized in both Europe and North America.


Bungie has also reported that the issue is currently preventing some users to from playing Destiny on Microsoft’s consoles.

Update: Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on Twitter, mentioning that the teams are currently at work on solving the issue:

Update 3: while Microsoft still hasn’t given the “all green”my friend list just went back up after a bit over two hours of downtime. This means that the problem is on the mend.

Update 4: After  a second but more limited wave of problems Microsoft issued the “all green” roughly after six hours from the start of the issue.
