on April 14, 2015 12:18 AM

Microsoft just made the first wave of the Xbox One’s May system software update available for download to preview members, and it’s rather limited in scope, simply fixing bugs, as explained in the patch notes published in the private preview forums.

The first update of the May update wave will be available to all Preview members beginning at 6PM on 4/13. This contains a fix to address audio popping when using the US/CA version of the Digital TV Tuner (currently in Preview), and changes to assist our investigation into Voice Messaging issues.

OS version released: xb_rel_1505.150408-2200
Available: 6:00PM PT 4/13 (2AM GMT 14/4)

  • Audio popping with US/CA Digital TV Tuner: Fix for an issue some reported with audio popping when using the Digital TV Tuner in US/CA locales.
  • Changes to assist investigation into Voice Messaging issues reported by the community.

  • Project Spark Quest: Project Spark released a new update today with a new first-time user experience, the Tour! Take the quest and add to your point total!

Luckily, the full May update is going to include more than this, as actual new features will be made available later this month, as mentioned by Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.

Looks like more is coming, and we’ll let you know about it as soon as a further update is posted.
