Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, has recently confirmed in an interview that more Xbox Series X news will be coming around in August. The details are yet to be revealed.

While Microsoft's biggest Xbox Series X showcase went live recently, the company reveals that another event will take place next month. Not much information has been provided on the upcoming event yet, but rumors suggest that Microsoft will finally reveal the Lockhart project in August, which is assumed to be the less powerful next-gen console called Xbox Series S.

During an interview with iJustine, Spencer revealed that in August they will be talking more about the new console. He said:

I am encouraged to be able to talk more about [Microsoft’s Xbox plans]… should be August. I think August we’ll have more to say

Recently, a leaked image from a white Xbox Series X controller ignited the rumors around the existence of a cheaper next-gen Xbox console once again, which might be delivered in the opposite color of Xbox Series X. The same already happened with Microsoft's current-gen consoles, when they shipped Xbox One X in black and the lower-spec Xbox One S in white.

Microsoft's latest Xbox Games Showcase was definitely the company's best event for Xbox Series X so far. However, the showcase was strictly focused on the games coming to the new console with no further details on the device itself, its launch date, and its price tag.

As rumors suggest, the upcoming Xbox event in August will be dedicated to the announcement of the new next-gen device from the Microsoft team, along with some new video game premiers.

From the fifteen studios working under the wing of Xbox Game Studios, we get to know the next projects for nine of them at Xbox Games Showcase, with the other teams revealing their upcoming titles in the next events.

Microsoft has taken a totally different approach for the next generation of consoles compared to Sony. The Redmond giant tries to deliver its exclusive titles on as many Microsoft-related platforms as it can, while the Japanese rival will only be focused on PS5.
